South Australia looks to the ill and dissabled to raise more revenue!

The unscrupulous revenue raising tactics of Australia's governments has hit another all time low. With the South Australian government targetting people with Cancer, MS, Glucoma, Arthritis and hundreds of other illnesses in it's efforts to raise revenue and protect pharmacutical profits!

With Countries like America (The State of Oregon is a good example) recognising the value of marijuana as a medication and relaxing laws so people with illness can have an alternative to the life threatening options the pharmacutical companies offer, Australia is just plain cruel and I am positive polititians are taking great big payouts from the pharmacutical companies to keep increasing penalities on the ill, injured and those with a dissability becuase they are such soft targets.

And South Australian polititians must be taking some awesome bribes from these multi billion dollar companies at the expense of those suffering!

State moves to increase drug fines

THE South Australian Government has moved to increase fines for smoking, selling and cultivating small amounts of cannabis, with some penalties to be tripled.

Attorney General Michael Atkinson said the Government had delivered on another election promise by introducing the first increases in fines for more than 20 years.

The new penalties will come into effect on December 3.

They increase fines for the possession of less than 25g of cannabis from $50 to $150 and for the possession of 25 to 100g from $150 to $300.

Possessing equipment for smoking cannabis will also attract a $150 fine, up from $50, while cultivation of one cannabis plant in the ground will cost $300, up from $150.

Mr Atkinson said with fines unchanged since 1985, the current penalties did not reflect their original intent to deter the illegal use of cannabis.

“The Government will continue to toughen the law and back our police force in the fight against drugs on our streets,” he said.

This is an extremely heartless country we live in now, when the polititians prefer us to take medications like, viox (kills increased risk of heart attack), Voltaren (kills increased risk of heart attack), morphine (highly addictive and violent drug but pharmacutical companies make $billions and by the looks of it so do polititians), Valium (or antenax, diazapram or any of the variations, still a highly addictive and dangerous drug) over something that is proven over 200 years to be a relatively safe alternative in marijuana.

It's just tough luck for those with an illness, disease or injury that might like to have something relatively safe but illegal over something that is legal but highly dangerour. Becuase the polititians are corrupt and taking huge payouts for implementing these heartless laws.

Daniel
