Applying for Jobs

It has become apparent to me applying for positions in Australia that most safety practitioners just haven't the experience and qualifications to undertake the task adequately!

I blame the Safety Institute of Australia for this farce and employers must not expect much from the safety industry. To highlight this ANZ is asking for safety professionals but only allow 100Kbs of information to be sent in your resume.

100 Kilobytes of information only allows for a few lines of information in your resume.

So it's obvious the standard of Safety Practitioners in Australia is disgustingly poor, although with the SIA not requiring people that are qualified this would make sense as my qualifications would take up far more than 100 kilobytes of information even in PDF format.

No wonder we cannot be recognised as a profession with Seniour People in the Safety Institute of Australia not even having the committment to safety to gain a tertiary qualification.

It's sad too that the ANZ Bank doesn't realise there are safety practitioners out there that have far more experience and qualifications than could fit into 100 Kilobytes, highlighting the fact that the ANZ doesn't care enough about it's employees to recruit the most qualified and experienced people and only want Safety Institute of Australia failures.

The are failures becuase they haven't the knowledge or skills to get a qualification and it's a shame that the ANZ doesn't recognise the Safety Institute is a corrupt organisation, they are corrupt becuase they claim they are a professional body but clearly if you look at the definition of a professional, it requires years of study and education and requires a qualification.

This must stop so people who are dedicated to safety and have been all their lives cannot be banned by uneducated people who have power. In fact it's a farce that someone less experienced and qualified in the field can ban someone with qualifications and experience.

And the ANZ and many others need to recognise that the Safety Institute of Australia is a failure and until it requires members and higher to be qualified it will never be a professional body.

Regards
Daniel
